    10 Years ago, we started Project Deliverance out of a garage. Since then, we've grown into a gym with a fantastic culture and over 120 members. We couldn't be more thankful and are hosting a giant Open House this Saturday (6/24) from 12pm-6pm. Join us and @bobbymaximus in thanking all of you for making The Project what it is today. //

When the opportunity to intern at Project Deliverance became available, he looked forward to joining a gym and team that shared his personal beliefs on training. / Mike recently became a full time trainer at Project Deliverance. / Mike, Strength & Conditioning Coach at Project Deliverance 545 # Deadlift 455 # Back Squat 415 # Bench Press / •What’s Your Athletic Background? Most recently, I was a Safety at Northern Illinois University. I was fortunate to be voted Defensive Player of the Year by my teammates. In high school I was a 3-sport athlete, playing football, wrestling and running track. Athletics were always a big part of my life since growing up my dad was football coach. I played every sport I could as a kid. / •Why Did You Choose Project Deliverance? Matt (Owner of Project Deliverance) and I competed against each other in high school. I've always respected Matt and we share the same views and ideology about training and sports. When life’s circumstances brought me here, it seemed like the perfect spot for me. People come to Project Deliverance with the mindset of wanting to better their lives. It was important for me to find a place and people with that mindset. / •What Is Your Favorite Part of Training? I'm a big strength guy, so I enjoy hitting strength goals on powerlifting movements. I also enjoy being able to move and be athletic. I want to make sure I'm as strong and healthy as I can be now and for the future. / •What Is Your Favorite Part of Being a Trainer? I enjoy being able to look back with clients to their first day when everything seemed overwhelming and help them to see how far they've come. It's rewarding to see someone’s progress and to see how happy that person is with their progress.                         When working on shoulder rehab or prehab, less weight, more volume, and super strict form will always go farther than more weight and less volume. We're looking to build structural strength, strength endurance, and work capacity. Muscle tissue grows 3x slower than connective tissue.
